Fruit & Vegetable Program - 23/24 School Year

BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program
Consent Form

Dear Parent/Guardian:

We are pleased to announce that West Bench Elementary will once again participate in the BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program (BCSFVNP). The BCSFVNP is brought to schools across BC by the BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation – a non-profit organization, dedicated to “working to bring BC’s agriculture to our students”. The Foundation works with local farmers and distributors to bring fresh BC produce to students in public and First Nations schools throughout BC. The BC School Fruit and Vegetable Program is supported by the Province of British Columbia and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

How Does it Work?
Every other week, fresh fruit or vegetables are delivered to the school. Students are offered the snack during class time. They make their own decision on whether they try the fruit or vegetable offered. It is not meant to replace the foods students normally eat at school.
There is no charge to students to participate.

MEDICAL ALERT - My child has food allergies you need to be aware of and therefore he/she may not be able to participate in every offering.
